Then there were about60 Cleanup guns made a few years later, and had to be shipped to Lipsey's since this was an exclusive offered by them originally. The serial number will tell if it was one of the less than 275 produced for an exclusive run to Lipsey's. That is because of the very limited number made!! Mine is in the Bisley, rarest of all.
The 45 Colt new Model Super Blackhawk Hunter is not very well known. Parts cleanups, are Guns made when Ruger decides they are stocking to many parts of a certian type. Yep they are made every year in different calibers and configuration! It's a 45 that will handle heavy loads for sure. Don't pay full Ruger retail as listed on their website. You might shop around and find one a little cheaper. The price sounds about what new ones are going for.
If it's advertised as new, it's new, and in 45 colt it's a Blackhawk not a 'super'.
I'VE NEVER heard of a 'parts clean-up' Ruger. 3/32” serial numbers and Blackhawk “Flattop” barrel. This is a fantastic looking revolver for one that is 45 years old and doesn. It comes in the original case/box (matching serial number) with a six round cylinder, 7.5'barrel, original grips and blued finish and instruction manual. Description: This used Ruger New Model Blackhawk chambered in.45 Colt is in 98% excellent condition.
